On Tuesday, I left Lake Stevens with Jessamyn and Scott for our SB07 road trip. Our first destination was the Tichy home on Liberty Lake. 1415 Lilac Lane was in the midst of the celebration of Jadyn. After sampling the birthday girl's homemade Red Velvet Cake and singing Happy Birthday, Jess and Scott took Jads for a night out in Spokane. I led our team in a spirited game of trivia at the Blue Spark. We got our drink on as we also visited the Safari Room and Fast Eddie's.

We also stopped in Hot Springs, Montana to visit Syme's Hot Springs. The water is hot and refreshing... but it stinks. Gnomes have a very strong sense of smell! Before we knew it, we were traveling past Flathead Lake, through Kalispel, and had arrived in Whitefish. We walked around town, and had a deli lunch in the park.
Wednesdays at Big Mountain is a special day. At a Big Mountain watering hole, The Bierstube (http://www.bigmtn.com/?a=content/bierstube), The Ski Patrollers roast one another and pour free beer for all of the patrons in an event called Fraburt. This happened to be the last Fraburt of the season, and there were two kegs to drain. I was in Valhalla!
Jessamyn met up with many old friends from her summer guiding adventures. The reunion moved from The Stube to The Bulldog (http://www.fart-slobber.com/history.cfm) in downtown Whitefish. Jessamyn did her best to keep up with me as we put down many glasses of golden goodness, told stories, and watched a drunken bar patron fall off of his gambling stool. Katie Boyd is a wonderful hostess. We stayed the night at her beautiful new home, and had breakfast with her on her porch. We discovered a new dish that has been aptly named Eggs: Katie Boyd style. After a slow start we spent our day making turns on Big Mountain!
From Big Mountain we headed north to Fernie, B.C. Fernie (http://www.skifernie.com/) is located in southeastern B.C. on the western edge of the Canadian Rockies. We skiied two days at Fernie and loved the terrain, the friendly people, and the apres ski. We ended both days sipping bier outside in t-shirts!

After two wonderful days at Fernie, we headed back to Liberty Lake to celebrate Easter with Mr. Greg, Mrs. Annie, and Ms. Jadyn. The entire clan was happy to be back together as we celebrated Scott's birthday with homemade huckleberry pie. Yummy!!!
The Easter Bunny was very good to all of us. After a morning walk to Starbucks, gifts and merryment were enjoyed by all! Happy Easter everyone!
Our clan went to Easter services (http://www.jvlm.org/854173.html) and brunch at the Spokane Club (http://www.spokaneathleticclub.org/index.cfm?menu=2707&openitem=2707). Highlights included the following:
- Mimosas for everyone!
- Jadyn was quick to grab a cookie on a stick.
- Jess gracefully handled some spillage by a server.
- Greg was a sought out as a Liberty Lake Legend.
- A chocolate fountain!
A wonderful time was had by all. Soon after, we piled into the Subaru for a drive back across the state and SB07 had come to an end. I will miss SB07. Sleeping in, meals and merryment at Liberty Lake, Spring Skiing, bier, and the Subaru. Ah, spring vacaction, what an adventure!

Oh, it is sad to see the happy days of spring break come to an end. But, Ced, you'll have SB08 to look forward to!
...btw, I'm super sad Jadyn didn't grab an extra cookie-on-a-stick for me :-(
